Bánh Mì Huynh Hoa is a small shop located on a quiet street in Saigon, but it's renowned for serving the best Bánh Mì sandwiches in Ho Chi Minh City. The sandwiches are filled with cured meats, pate, and an assortment of vegetables, all nestled within warm, crispy bread.
The line was fast. The servings were massive. Having eaten banh mi only in America and in the north I didn’t realize this was what it was supposed to be like

My favourite banh mi place in Ho Chi Minh City. The roll is bigger compared to other places and there is more filling, lots of pate, sauce, and mayo, which makes it extra tasty. Bread is light and crispy. Eating this is dreamy! Maybe not for you if you don’t like it heavy, rich or quite meaty. There’s always a queue here but it moves quickly. If you don’t want to queue in the heat, pay a bit extra and order it on Grab whilst waiting in a cafe with a drink nearby.

They have two adjacent stores apart for only a few steps; one is specifically for take-away. Please note that one portion is humongous, filled with lavish meats. In practice, you can share one portion for two people.I recommend you eat this sandwich with and without the provided vegetables. The vegetables add rich flavors to each bite. However, eating it sans the greens renders the sandwich identical to what Subway offers.

The bread is nice, crispy on the outside. The taste itself is really an acquired taste. if u like processed meat/pate, then u might like it , with additional floss. No doubt it’s very popular. to each their own for sure.

Definitely the biggest bahn mi I had in Vietnam and probably the best too 👌
Colin H — Google review
Pretty tasty however very heavy on the meat and pate. Love how they pancake the veggies and pickles separately so you can DIY and customise how much you want as well as ensuring the bread doesn’t go soggy. Overall worth a try to see what the hype is about however there are probably better banh mi joints elsewhere

The size is massive and I’m a small girl eater so it’s more than enough. You can add your desired veggies and they give gloves and wet tissue. Taste wise is very good, heavy on the rich side with the pate filling. Worth a try! Even tho during the eating space there was a rat lol.

They raised there prices to 58k per Banh Mi. The lines are always long so go when they first open at 9am to avoid long wait times. One order comes with a loaded banh mi, wet nap, veggies, and one glove. This banh mi will fill you as it is loaded with meat and pate. The veggies provides a good balance to all the meat. There is no sitting area so I took the banh mi to Nguyen Hue Pho di bo and ate it there. They also sell you their ingredients so if you like you can make it at home. Highly recommended for banh mi lovers

Without a doubt the craziest and the best Banh Mi we have ever had. Awesome bread texture, massive amount of ingredients, ultimate jaw workout regime. Comes with a glove and wet wipes too. All for 3 bucks. This overkill sandwich is a must visit for newcomers but it’s hard to eat standing on the spot with all the extra stuff. Overkill but no one is complaining for sure.

Famous banh mi place known for their fresh bread filled with various meats (only one kind of sandwich offered). If you're facing the store, to the right, there is banh mi line for food delivery guys, in the middle there is an area for seating, and on the left is where regular customers purchase banh mi. The sandwich is huge with lots of flavor. If you're into mixed meat banh mi with lots of pate, this is the place to be.IG: kay_okay_eat

The sandwich is tasty but far from fresh as all meat in it is ultraprocessed and visually not particularly appealing. Also, the consistency feels somewhat rubbery. Beyond this, the place has cockroaches, which leads to questions about hygiene. I recommend not following the hype and look for banh mi somewhere else.

There is always a long line however they only offer a pork option and there is not much a selection of drinks. The Ban Mi itself was HUGE so I would suggest sharing it. It did taste good but it was a bit a bit too porky at times. They also give you fresh veggies and herbs on the side which were delish. They are extremely fast at preparing it and there is some seating inside.

Came here with such great expectations, but am underwhelmed. The highlight of the banh mi is definitely the pate. Overall, I’ve had a lot better. They do pack the banh mi with so much meat, but at the detriment of the overall taste. I feel like the pickled veg could’ve been more sour to cut through the richness of all the meat, butter and pate, and the salad could’ve done with more coriander, because there was barely any.

- You can sit and eat at the restaurant. You need to place your order on one room and then sit down on the other room.- You can request the restaurant to cut and divide Banh Mi in half.- The portions are very large! It can be shared by 2 people. The bread is extremely crispy, and the filling is packed with plenty of vegetables and meat. It's recommended to eat it with the fresh vegetables provided by the restaurant.- The service is excellent, polite, and friendly.

Hands-down the best banh mi i’ve ever had. Went here almost everyday, it was delicious! They give you the vegetables separately, so it up to you on how much to put.

This review reflects our personal taste, and we acknowledge that taste is inherently subjective. The establishment provided a delightful overall experience with attentive service and a pleasant ambiance. However, for our specific preferences, we found the banh mi to be overly generous with the meat portion, which overshadowed the delicate balance of flavors we typically enjoy in this dish. While the quality of ingredients and preparation were commendable, the proportion did not align with our expectations. Regrettably, this means we won’t be returning, but we appreciate the effort and quality presented.

The wait is just too long due to the popularity of the place, avoid peak hours. Knew this place for more than 10 years already, and would still receive top ratings from me as the best "banh mi" in Saigon personally. Do not be turned off by the price, it's well worth it and can be considered a full meal.

SHARE ONE! These sandwiches are massive. The bread was flaky and the fillings were plentiful. They give you the veggies in little baggies. The restaurant has about five high top tables. Great customer service and tasty food. A tad expensive though compared to what we paid nearby.

Absolutely one of the best, and in my opinion, the absolute best considering the price! What truly stands out is the size of the sandwich – it's massive! Just one of these is more than sufficient for a hearty meal. I wholeheartedly recommend giving it a try!
Alex C — Google review
Interesting experience for sure, the bread itself is good, portion huge, but the meat is super processed and rubbery. Such a shame, grilled pork would do just fine. I appreciate that you can adjust the veggies mix to your taste.

Big Banh Mi! Very full of meat. They only serve pork. Very quick from order time to serving time.I think this place is a little over hyped but if you love big meaty banh mi’s this is the place for you.

Bahn Mi was massive, like a forearm thick and long. Highly recommend you share one between two people. Worth the try!The pate and floss coupled with the pickles was the highlight of this sandwich. The meats were decent, a little salty at times and gets a bit much near the end of the sandwich. (But that’s definitely depending on your appetite)

super popular banh mi place in saigon, costs 68k dong and can be shared between 2 pax as it's really really huge. they only have one item on the menu and the vegetables are packed separately.not my favourite as i felt there was too much fillings and can get abit too heavy!do take note which shop to queue at as they have one for grab food and one for customers to sit and dine at!

Bánh Mì Huynh Hoa is a standout destination for delicious French bread, offering a unique and delightful taste experience. The portions are impressively generous, ensuring you get great value for your money. Each bite is a perfect blend of flavors and textures, making it a must-visit for any bánh mì enthusiast. However, it's advisable to avoid peak hours, as the popularity of the stall often results in long queues. Despite the wait, the quality of the food makes it well worth the time. Bánh Mì Huynh Hoa truly sets a high standard for street food, combining tradition with exceptional taste.

While we were scrambling thinking about what/ how to order.. we learned that there's such a thing as "one size fits all" :)Ok, we were here on a Monday evening (~7pm), there were long queues, and the only decision to make is "how many". The assembly runs like clock work, dishing out the same deal - nonstop. The banh mi was "super" according to the fam.. but I've never been a big fan, so I'll trust their assessment. It's just not the kind of meal I want straight off a flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

I think very it was good banh mi. Just not my personal taste buds. They only have one type of sandwich- loaded with cold sliced meat and pate. Very generous portion and they give you the fresh ingredients separately so you have to assemble the sandwich yourself. Very busy at most times of the day.
Hannah S — Google review
This is a very busy/well known location, so the service is very quick, but also a little overwhelming. The size of the banh mi was huge, I was full after eating half of the sandwich. This place tends to give more pâté than most, so it does depend on personal preference. Delicious overall, and the lady serving drinks was very kind in the seating area.

Best Banh Mi in town! From the moment we arrive, all we can see are Grab drivers lined up to collect their orders and we are expecting a serious wait. Thankfully the drivers tell us that ‘our’ access is a couple of doors down. Once again, another eatery that has become so popular that they have acquired a second location close by!Much to our relief the queue is only a few deep (even though the first customer is picking up 20 Banh Mi’s!) and we order at the window to our left. The line moves to the right and we wait patiently whilst watching the team at work. This is a well oiled machine and they move through the orders very quickly. Finally it’s our turn and the Banh Mi is packed with the ‘fresh’ produce in a separate bag. We’ve not seen or had it this way before but definitely enjoyed building our own!Once completed we could not believe how tasty this was and hands down one of the best in Vietnam! There was so much filling that we shared one between us so bring your appetite!Would absolutely recommend!!

Best Bánh Mì I've had so far in Ho Chi Minh. The breads amazing, meats are good, but the patè is the best I've had in a loooooong time. Definitely worth the queueing. Had an apple and Vietnamese cherry juice as well that was really delicious 😋

Amazing Banh Mi, super size sandwich. They only have one filling. Very quick service and very affordable. They serve pickle and veggies in a bag on the side. You can eat at the room next door.Highly recommended!!

The biggest Bánh Mì I have purchased! Wow. I personally could not finish this in one setting and took the leftovers home.It was a little confusing at first when we arrived. There were two lines, one for Grab delivery pick ups and another for customers. You need to purchase a ticket on the far left first before you join the line to pick up your Bánh Mì. Luckily one of their staff stood outside and advised us where to go and what to do when we were displaced.Once we picked up our order, the dine in area was completely packed. We went across the street to cafe Lê Gia, where they kindly allowed us to use their space to eat our Bánh Mì after we ordered some drinks. The Bánh Mì was delicious. The accompanying herbs and pickled vegetables were packed separately so they could remain fresh if you decided to eat a little later, or in my case, ended up with some leftovers. We arrived around 3pm and witnessed long lines. I cannot imagine what it may be like during peak hours!

I ordered one Banh mi for myself, it was around 70,000 vnd which was fair. Take note there are two lines—one to order and another to pick up your food. The banh mi is huge, easily shareable between two people, with a generous filling. While the amount of meat was a bit overwhelming for me, the addition of greens and pickled veggies that you add yourself was a nice touch. There’s a separate area to order drinks and sit down to eat your banh mi.

(June 2023)This was my second favourite bánh mì in all of Vietnam (the first was Madam Khanh in Hoi An). It’s so different from other sandwiches, it’s very meat-heavy and the main star is the pâté, which is super delicious but very fatty. Pickled vegetables and herbs come in a separate plastic bag, which is not good for someone who cannot handle heat (since everything the chillies touch can turn spicy) 😅 Back in June, it cost 65k VND. The two of us ate one bánh mì (it weighs more than 600g) in a nearby park but there’s a dining area on the right side of the place where you first have to buy it.

Now I understand why there's so much hype around it. They pack it with generous amounts of meat and pate, it looks heavy but surprisingly the bread is light. They provide the veggies and garnishes on the side. Definitely one of the best banh mi I've had, of course it is pricey compared to other spots you can find but worth trying.

probably the biggest (and most expensive) banh mi i had while in vietnam! at 68k, this banh mi comes with vegetables (on the side), a bunch of mixed meat slices, shredded pork, and pate.i feel like a lot of banh mis in vietnam lacked filling, but to be honest i feel as if huynh hoa almost had too much. there was an insane amount of pate in mine which kind of overpowered the whole banh mi. it's good if you love pate/meat, but the amount of deli meat and pate was really heavy on my stomach. i had to take some of the meat out in order to finish it.the banh mi can easily be two portions/shared. it is a good price for what you get though, just maybe not my personal favorite.

The best banh mi ever! One banh mi is 68 000 vnđ .It is full of tasty meat, but the butter/mayo and liver pate are the ingredients that sets it apart from the rest. Yes, it is a bit more expensive than the others, but it’s worth the price. I ate it 3 times while I was here. The staff is also super friendly and chatty. I wish they sold them in half, because a whole one is pretty big.

A very popular place.Bánh Mi for $58,000D and it was good. The Bánh Mi is quite large, one will do two people. It is a cold cut Bánh Mi (different cold cuts and pâté) which has pickles and herbs that come in separate bags….which you have to open and add to your Bánh Mi.Try it, it’s different 😊

This was my first stop when arriving to HCMC. I was really looking forward to trying this place out and had high hopes.Unfortunately, the Banh Mi was not edible and I just threw the entire thing away after 3 bites.Because they are busy, the guys putting the sandwiches together rush through the process and are very sloppy and careless when putting on ingredients such as mayo and pate. This leads to an uneven distribution of ingredients and just a gross tasting sandwich. There were also no vegetables in the sandwich, and they included a very tiny amount in a small plastic bag for you to put on yourself. Then there is the price. I get the banh mi is large, but that isn’t really anything special when you are paying 2x the price of a regular banh mi. 68k VND is ridiculous, but would be justifiable if the sandwich at least tasted good.I would not recommend anyone come here, this is just a tourist trap.

Huge banh mi with fresh ingredients. Bread was fresh with a good crisp the crust and soft inside. Each meat/ingredient inside had individual flavors and textures that compliment each other well as a whole. Veggies and pickled veggies are fresh and crisp.

Well known as one of the best Bahn Mi shops in Vietnam. Their Bahn mi is very large by normal standards and is packed with meats, pate and vegetables. You could cut it in half and share it or make sure you come hungry and devour the whole lot! Be prepared for a long queue at peak times. I go early morning to avoid the chaos and that sets me up for the day!

This is totally insane. 😇The bread is so huge even bigger than my head, i highly recommand sharing with 2-3 ladies, as we cannot finish it up at the end! The taste is good, with a lot of ingredients freshly made. And most importantly i can’t make myself that full, or else i can’t taste leave any tiny place for extra good 🥘😆

The first Bánh Mì I tried when I first visited Ho Chi Minh a decade ago and it still remains my favourite & must-go. It used to be just one shoplot for takeaway but now they've expanded , offering dine in facilities. I dined in their smaller shoplot which is quite basic and simple (only to find out they have a larger dine in next door after I finished). The premise is quite clean but the food was as good as I remembered and the price is very good as the portion is huge!!! If you don't fancy queuing up, you can also find them on Grab which just costs a little bit more. Overall, I can't recommend this shop enough and hopefully they will keep up the great work!!! I'm missing this place already as I'm typing this

Decent banh mi. The portion is very large and it is filled generously. There is only one type of banh mi here so you only need to let them know how many you want. The pate and mayo are good, and they also give you a lot which helps you out because there's so much meat, so it can be a little dry and hard to eat. It's a good banh mi, but idk if it's the best? We will see.

Note there are 2 shop fronts, one for walk in customers to order and another for grab deliveries to collect their food. Came at 4.30pm just a few persons before me, however a guy tried to cut my queue and the counter lady was fair, asked him to get behind me. Well shame on him. After ordering I head to the side to collect my order with my receipt. Really simple, came in a set with a small bottle of coke. The 1 foot long banhmi is full of meat, super filling and tasty. Paid 68k.

Best banh mi in Vietnam. We tried more than 20 banh mi shops in Ho chi Min. And this shop is the best. All the flavours go well. They put so much pate but not greasy at all. And it just nice.

The banh mi I had was delicious, with a generous portion of meat inside. They separate the vegetables for you to add according to your taste. It's convenient that there's seating right next to the store where you can also order drinks.I'll definitely return for their large and filling meat portions.

First time ever tasting the all-time hyped bánh mì place in Saigon. Overall, a very solid experience for any traveler. 67k (~3$) for a huge load of cold cuts, pate, mayo, shredded pork worths the experience. However, the wait might be overwhelming for some. You have to wait in order line, get your ticket and come to pickup line, which are both packed with customers. Took us 30’
